Sales Rep MYTH


MYTH: Call the company directly rather than using a sales representative - "My rep will get the commission if I call the company or call them. I don't want to bother them." This totally depends on the company. Most companies = False. If you want to make sure your sales representative has the best chance of being paid, always contact them. If they direct you to the company, then you can begin doing the same. Remember that you are not talking to the owner of the business when you call in. You are probably speaking to an inside sales representative or a phone clerk of some kind.

There ARE companies who are trustworthy and give a sales rep the business in case the customer phones or writes in. These companies are rare.
